Our Story
Prior to spending 20 years building a financial services business, Kim worked in geriatric care in both institutional and private home care settings.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve had an affinity for the elderly. It likely stems from a very close bond that I shared with my grandmother, as well as my exposure to seniors through my mother’s 35 year career in this field. Having grown up around nurses and caregivers who all specialized in geriatrics, I’ve always been in touch with the issues surrounding senior care.”
“Eventually we were faced with caring for one of our own family members, my beloved grandmother; a strong and independent woman, who was the cornerstone of our family. Seemingly overnight, she became ill and frail, and required full time care. Our family committed to honour my grandmother’s wishes to remain in the comfort of her own home where she was surrounded by her memories, her loved ones and her 18 year old cat.”
“Within years, other family members began having difficulties with everyday living. Before I knew it, I was part of a growing phenomenon: The Sandwich Generation—people juggling raising their family, their career and caring for their aging parents or loved ones.”
I had a new perspective…seniors needed support and so did their families!
My passion for home care stems from the years I worked in geriatric care, as well as the time spent caring for my own aging family members.
I firmly believe seniors can maintain their independence in the comfort of their own home, provided they receive quality home support services by qualified caregivers.
On this premise Graceful Living Home Care Services was founded.
